watched a longbeard breed hens this morning
It was this first time i had ever seen it and man it looked painful for the hen. A big longbeard was just basically standing on top of them just stomping on them for about 5 minutes at a time. 3 jakes were fighting right along side, fighting purrs, jumping up and spurring eachother, the works. It turned out to be an exciting morning considering i didn't hear a gobble on the roost. April 10th can't get hear quick enough.

I got the chance to see the same thing on my first ever turkey hunt. It was truely awesome. We had about 25 birds 6 were longbeards and 5 jakes the rest were hens. We didn't get a shot because we got busted on the way in and the birds were still on the roost, but the stayed out of range and put on one heck of a show. I've been hooked from the first day.
