RE: diameter of a 10 ga
If it's shooting 12 ga. shells(which it should be) than what it means is that the barrel is "backbored " to the same size as a 10 ga about 18 inches from the front of the barrel down towards the chamber.Exactly what's the reason for doing this I'm not sure.I think it has to do with holding a tighter pattern or something to that effect. If I'm wrong somebody please correct me.

you will find the 10ga will throw a better pattern than a 12ga 3.5" in most cases. If money is an option I would rather buy a BPS 10 than a piece of crap mossberg. The new 935's can't even shoot light loads. The BPS 10's aren't too far off from the 935 price range.

I'll put my gold 10ga up to any mossberg 3.5". I have seen mossberg's let way too many people down in the goose field, heck, one day the front bead fell off of my buddies. You coulnd't pay me to shoot a 835. I'm sure you did kill birds out to 50 yards, I don't need to shoot birds that far. I have yet to shoot a bird over 30 yards, whether fall or spring. Why you ask do I use the 10 then? Because I have it and because I can. Good hunting.
