Osceola hunt?
#1
I've always wanted to at least take one trip to hunt these
beautiful birds[:-], probably too late for this year, but I
thought I'd still start looking into it.
Any suggestions where to start looking? Would love to take
a hunt on my own, but time is short during that time of year
for me and getting some 'scouting time' in doesn't seem
to likely seeing as though Florida is about 1500+ miles
away[&:]. Any information would be much appreciated

Man , I don't know how to say this , but trying to get info about Florida is like pulling teeth, trying to get anyone from Florida to take you by the hand is like falling into a Root canal. I would look into the DNR and the management units. There are a few Green Swamp , Three Lakes, are two that I remember. The Outfitters are out of the world for price. Myself even wanted to get into guiding in Florida for the season, but can't get that to work either...BT

there are a lot of WMA in Fla. Green Swamp,Joe Bud , Andrews(Andrews is a draw huntyou have to get application from Game Commission);Gulf Hammock ; those are in north and central Fla. there are also a lot in south Fla. that are good as well.
go to www.floridaconservation.org and look at the rules on where what and when in Fla.
some of the Federal land it doesn't cost anything ; then on the WMA you have to have a stamp.the website I gave will show everything you need to know.
if there is anything I can help with let me know ; (I wan't pull your teeth)

I figured this was gonna be a tough one to put together,
but I imagine it will be even more difficult in the future.
I'll keep plugging away and see what happens. Nice to
have some help from fellow hunters[:-]...thanks

I've got access to some land in Fl. I can't go this year, but I'm planning to go next year. I've got a buddy that is from Dunnellen that has some private land I have permission to go on. If it wasn't for that, I wouldn't be able to think about it. Good luck in getting a hunt booked. The next time I talk to him, I'll see if he knows of any good land that may be available.
