I heard of the very same thing happening in Tennessee about 10 years ago. I was told by some of the locals that the guy did it because people were trespassing on his land to hunt all the turkeys that were there.

Yea farmers here in tennessee (mostly) will allow hunters to thin out the turkeys if they are being destuctive...but never heard of anyone poisoning them... it amazes me what stupid people do....
