I have done it.....But they bust you way to easy when you are bow hunting out of one. I was deer hunting....all of a sudden, here come some turkeys. Before you know it. I am turkey hunting.

It may work - reason I say so is I see turkeys all the time on my deer stand in the woods and do raise the ole rifle to put a few in crosshairs for fun.

I have had them less than 20 yards from and do know several here have shot a Fall turkey that way while archery deer hunting.

But an elevated stand out in a field one would need to be covered to hide movement as others have told you.

our fall archery seasons coincide so if one walks by its getting the big ugly shaft.

Lol x2. That's what I love about turkey hunting. YOU make all of your luck. At least how I hunt them you do.

I once set up my climbing stand in an area that turkey chose to roost in that night. They flew up around dusk and landed in the trees all around me. I thought one was going to land in my tree but he flew past. I could have shot one right off a branch about 10 yds away.

I shot a hen in the fall with my bow, as that is legal here. Not really my idea of turkey hunting though.

i hunt turkeys out of a stand during bow gun season because turkey season runs through part of bow season. so i hunt for both turkeys and deer. ive never gotten one though out of a stand
