Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Turkey Question?

I recently went out to my old stand and I noticed some large areas of dust and it looked kind of like it was scraped at or something and I wondered if it could be turkeys because i found a turkey feather in one of them.
I will get pictures up soon.

Yep, turkeys use dust to clean off bugs.

No here in southwest, Ohio we can only hunt turkeys in the spring.

Will e a good place to scout. I know of 3 or 4 dust bowls that are constantly used throughout the spring and summer to fall months.

Yup, sounds like a dusting area. Make sure to check it out next spring. Good luck.

turkeys move from spring to fall and they seperate into different groups. depending on the size of your tract of land these birds could be flocked up for the winter in your area, or just passing through your area. turkeys can move miles to get to the group/area they also go to in the fall/winter. turkeys make new dust bowls every day so you really can't tell if they are consistently using your land to dust or if they have dusted and passed through already. The only thing you can do is scout for them, But seeing that you can't hunt during the fall it is pretty much pointless to scout them now. In the spring all there patterns change and that is when you need to scout them is in the spring not the fall.
