I have a box call that I don't think has the best sound to it, what can I do to get a better sounding call. Would sanding or shaping the lip(s) give me a better sound?? If so, am I going to get a raspier sound out of a thicker lip as opposed to a thinner lip??
Thanks.
Thanks.

Take Med. grit sandpaper and lightly sand the lid or paddle, sanding the direction of the lenght of it,this will leaving little grit marks to hold the Chalk, then very so lightly just easly run the paper over the box edge, "Do not sand the wood just CLEAN" add chalk only to the paddle. If that don't help, then take a marker and make a little mark on the screw and the lid where they meet. Then take a screw driver and slitely tighten or losen the screw, trying the call in different spots, it sometimes it will change the angle of the lid for better fiction and add to the sound. If it don't work you know where the screw was on the lid, before you started...BT
