Default To Much Snow!!!!!!!

How many are starting to worry with all the snow. We just got another foot today. The birds around here are feeding almost exclusively on soft mast (sumac etc). Me and my hunting partner went out tonight and spread some cracked corn and barley and oats in areas where the birds are scratching. Does anyone else help the birds like this during hard winters? Whats the level of success in helping them when snow depths have been over 30" since December?

Turk_man how about the frigid -36 C on Monday. WHOO WEE!! !Natures creatures always surprise me with the obstacles they face for their survival. Turkeys in my opinion are a tough bird in their element with strong survival instincts. I believe two winters ago we were plagued by snowstorms who dumped an infinite amount of snow. If you remember the mayor of Toronto, panicked and called in the army to help shovel the snow(laughing) The birds came out fine.

Most of the winter flocks I have seen, are in good shape, scratching for waste grain in farm fields where the strong wind has thinned the snow drifts. I' m not concerned much annd look foward to their gobbling soon. Damn' winter[:@
