About the best thing in my turkey hunting Arsenel is my H.S. Strut folding leg seat. I don' t know how I lived without before. Very comfortable, gets rid of all those hidden rocks and roots. The weight according to my not so offical turkey scale is a little over 3 pounds. The legs are shorter on one side then the other to allow you to sit either in a slight reclined postion or in hilly country level. I really like the folding leg version better for two reasons. 1) The folding leg version has a cross bar going from the front legs to the rear unlike the fixed leg version and this keeps the seat from sinking in the soft spring earth. 2) The folding leg version seems to me to be easier to carry. I' ve never had a problem or " hassle" carrying it, if it gets too thick I just put it in my turkey vest and forget about it.

I have a seat with legs and it' s wonderfull for the hine-end, but it gets me too high off the ground to use my knee for a gun rest. I' ve tried most of them, air bags, inner tube seats and the rest of them and the best for me is the foam with the handle cut out in one end. I forget the name.

Rather than investing in something that I have to carry like an extra seat, amoungst everything else, I invested in the Bucklick Creek Highback Turkey Lounger vest. It has it' s own built in lounge chair. No more need to find the right tree, fight roots, rocks, etc...simply sit and lean back in comfort. The seat positions your legs perfectly to support your shotgun while you call or wait. Just a tip if you don' t want to carry more into the woods.

Personally Ohio, just speaking for myself I like to travel light afield, and dont have a need for the seat!My vest has a buttseat attached to it,and I wear a belt that has another seat attached to it also,so really I have 2 cushioned seats that I dont have to take off or set-up to sit on.Often times I also set-up in a prone position depending on the terrain and openness of the ground I hunt and never even use the seats! But hey, they do look comfy and those that use em swaer by em!!

I received a strut seat a little over a year ago and I use it coupled with a foam seat to make it even more " butt-friendly." It sure took a lot of stress off my knees and removed the rocks from play that my butt always seemed to find!
