RE: anybody ever gobbled one in?
I've never used a gobble call on public land. Too afraid of calling in another hunter. I can see how it would be an advantage to have in your call arsenal.
I think we had the boss gobbler scenario on our lease last year and years previous. We had seen lots of turkey during deer season so we knew they were there but we had never heard any gobbles in the spring. Last year we finally did and after two hunts, nailed him. He was a good'un: 19lb - 10.5" beard - 1.125" spurs. So by yhe NWTF scale, he's be a 4+ year old bird. Didn't have the opportunity to go back after I got him, but we'll see what happens this year. I'll let you know.
I carry a film canister tube call that I can gobble on so I'll have to try that this year, too.

I called in a jake for my partner last spring. It seems that they get call weary and want to gang up with toms. I was a real good tom that day,he got his shot. John
