Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default water holes ??

I have a good question on hunting Turkeys in the west, Last spring we had a setting hen come in our camp and drink every day for a half hour or so and she would go back to her nest. This got me thinking about hunting Toms by a water hole or setting up by a water hole, My question is has any of you avid turkey hunters ever tried the water hole ? now remember here in Utah we don't have a creek or stream or pond in every low spot there is, I have been to up state New York, Mass.,Kenn.,Tenn. and I have never seen so much water, Water is a good place to be for deer and elk out here, But what about Turkey's?

Default RE: water holes ??

shed horn, Water holes are a great place to start. If you scout areas like this, look for tracks along side of them , for evidence of turkeys useing them to drink. On them Hot or dry spells turkeys tend to hang around them...BT

I like them with Long Sharp Spurs....
