While I'm no expert,all turkeys will "MOLT" after the mating seasons. They will also grow a complete set of new feathersbefore the comming fall and winter. My Taxidermist always told me, if you want an awesome looking "flying gobbler mount", be sure totake a Fall gobbler!!
They will have a complete set of new feathers by then and make the mount look that much more awesome on the wall without broken wing tips, etc.

I agree with R33h - 7/8' onch spurs is not a Jake. Good picture by mlo tho that has me thinking! do know all birds molt but dropping all center tail feathers at one time - Hmmmm
