Team 3 "Grave Diggers"
#211
Well, here in Kentucky the youth weekend opened and I took little Fish. We set up in a open field about 1,000 yards from the road. At around 7:20 am we had two toms gobbling and coming in however, three other hunters came walking up a grass road and off went the birds. These other hunters set up 100 yards from us like we were not there. When we left the were leaving also. I drove over to that side of the field and they hid. The ground they were on is goverment owned there is no hunting or firearms allowed. When we returned later in the day they were back on the goverment side again. Being P_ssed I phone the security department and they advised that they would take care of it. I went to another place and found out later that the other hunters were met by State Police and Fish and Wildlife officers. Some hunters need to learn that setting up on one anothers stands does not work for anyone.
Safe hunting.
Safe hunting.

Hey thanks man, it means alot to me to be able to hunt with him. He loves the sport but he is to the point now where he doesnt care if its a jake with a stub for a beard or a boss gobbler. He enjoys to hunt turkeys. I am to the point where I try to not shoot smaller birds in hopes to get a chance at a big mature tom, as I try to wait for mature bucks during deer season. But one thing he said last year to me I wont forget is that if you truley love hunting turkeys, it shouldnt matter the size, what matters is the memory and experience you had. Actaully, my most memorable tukey hunt was when I killed a jake with a 2 and half inch beard. This was my first hunt with my dad and my most memorable for the fact it was the only time I got to hunt with him. He never got to see my first buck or my first pheasant I got with the dog he got me for my birthday. He passeda fewyearsback and the last day I got to spend with him was that day in the woods when I got my first bird, that jake. He was proud, no matter the size of the beard it was. Now every time I step foot in the field to hunt I always remember it was him who got me into the sport. Everytime I take an animal I think it was cause of him. See you someday dad. Hats off to ya'.

Adding in another one. Called this one for about 45 minutes, he came in silent as could be,drilled him at about 15 yards. 23#, 10 3/4" Beard, and 1 1/8 and 1 1/4 spurs. Just a tad bit bigger than theother one, both probably 3 year old birds. I can only kill 2 more and im tagged out, and our season is open until like May 20th. Good huntin you guys, hope ya enjoy the pics.

Great bird TN! Way to go.
Remington... sorry to hear about your father... but a great story. This sport is all about the memories we create and keep w/ us over the years. Sometimes the unsuccessful hunts are more memorable. He must have been prouder than you when you took that bird. Cherish those memories.
My father is in his mid 70's and is in poor health w/ heart conditions. We never killed alot together when he took me hunting as a child. The memories of the old NE hunts and wool bring back great memories though. It's interesting to see how excited he gets reliving our hunts now through our stories like I did when I was a child w/ him.
I hope you smoke that big guy!
I saw the flock down by my dad's again Sat and pulled over and got a nice tom to gobble about 20 yards off of the road for my little girl. She is almost 3. She thought that was the neatest thing ever!

COOL! Is it time to get the sticky with my address and instructions put up? If I could have a pile of SASEs waiting I could get a bunch mailed out ASAP. FYI, I'll be mailing them out daily from the mail room of the university where I work.

Greg - I'd say that we're okay to go ahead and start getting the SASE's from everyone. Maybe PM one of the mods with your contact info and a copy of the sticker picture. Make sure they give Ryan Aller some props for his design.
I'd look for the stix to get to me by the 27th, and then to you sometime around the 1st of the month. I just hope they're good quality, and don't peel or fade after getting damp or scraped.
Thanks again for handling the distribution. That's huge.
