Well came home with no bird....but I still have yet another weekend.
Thursday morning--Snowing, windy, 25 degrees--set down with the bow and no more than 10 min later a huge tom at 10 yard but he stayed right behind a bunch of trees with no shot.
Friday Morning-- 30 degrees--Same tom comes into 15 yard but through the thick briers--no shot
Sat. morning--31 degrees-Birds too far off and could not call them in
Sunday morning--30 degrees--Called in 2 large toms but the hung up behind a spamp at about 75 no shots!
Every day at exactly 7:30 the birds would stop talking and I would not hear another gobble till the next morning.
It was a cold and tough hunt. THe afternoons got to be very long andnever did hear or see one after that 7:30 time. Oh well, will be up there soon, andas time goes on and weather warms up...huntin will be better.
Good luck yall

OutdoormafiaKP,
You might want to go back and read the regs, because new for 2007 you hunt from 1/2 hour before sunrise to sunset, not 5 p.m. I know WI also changed this year to the sunset, should allow for a better hunt.
