I got drawn for the Salamonie Reservior hunt. I grew up around that area so I'm familiar with most of it. My brother actually got drawn for it as well (different days) so hopefully he can do some scouting for me as he hunts. This is the first time we have both been drawn and ends a5 year drought for me.

Well I went out two sundays in a row prior to the season starting and the birds were gobbling thier heads off. I actually called two birds in within 40 yards while I was standing in the middle of a dirt path. They could see me but they still came in. Im sure it was because they could see I was unarmed. I figured it was going to be like shooting fish in a barrel. Ha I was wrong!

With this cold weather we are having Im guessingit silenced the birds. I couldnt locate a single bird. It actually snowed on us here for quite a bit. Two friends of mine shot two birds, but I didnt have anyluck. Im headed back out monday and tuesday so wish me luck. Although no turkey i did see 14 deer. Thats awesome for public hunting land.
