Has anybody killed a bird yet in 2007? I'm looking for a picture of the first bird killed in Florida (or Hawaii) and posted to the internetwhere the seasons have opened. As soon as somebody gets one, send me a picture of you and your bird and the details including the date and time killed and I'll post it on my blog on Outdoorlife.com. You'll also be automatically entered into the 2007 Strut Zone "Give Us The Bird" photo contest, details of which will be posted soon.

The youth season starts Mar.31. He killed his first bird last year 17lbs. 6 inch beard ans maybe 1\2 or 3\4 spurs. Not bad for an 11 year old.

I wish our season was open. I have another month.

As for me, I have 11 days to go before I head to Florida. Can't wait. I know my home state of Virginia where I like to hunt most of the time doesn't open for more than a month. It can't get here soon enough. As much as I love to travel and hunt, like Dororty says, "There's no place like home."
