For me, 20 is my range, but I have taken one a little further. But most have been in alot closer, near the 10 yard range, one at actually 7 yards and it was the furthest of 7 birds, that was an exciting hunt.

The closer the bird, the better chance you have in retrieving it and the more shock the arrestor will put into the bird (KE).

Good luck.

About the scropios, remember you need to get the correct size, they are sized for the arrow shaft so that they will be able to apply pressure to the shaft as they slide back slowing the arrow.

Now about when to call and not call is a great question, when you find that out for definite, let me know . Actually what will work today, might bust you tomorrow and what busted you today, might be perfect tomorrow For me, I just try to read the turkeys and then decide. One thing is, if you call too much and get spooked, they are gone, but if you stop and they start to wonder away, you still might be able to bring them back, I try to error on the quiet side.

Good luck.
