RE: 3 and a half inch
The reason I am leaning more towards a Bennelli is because they are much lighter for carrying, easy cleaning, and it points well. It is alot of money to spend though, and i'm catching hell from the girlfriend.

Hey man
Have you handled a stoeger 2000? I've read they are very similar to the SBE with regards to the way they handle.
Is this a dedicated turkey gun? Its hard for me to justify a $1000 price tag for a gun that only gets shot 10-20 per year.
But hey, its your money and the SBE is a sweet gun. I killed my 2 birds with one this year. I just recently boughta 24 inch nova to be my dedicated turkey slayer though as the SBE I was using was a waterfowlsetup with a 28 inch barrel. That thing was a pain dragging around in the bush.

Well, w/ all the trouble I've had with my brand new Stoeger that doesn't work and they are replacing, (and WHAT is a Stoeger exactly......why, a Benelli, of course.....) ya'll can take anything made by, or owned by Benelli and keep it. I'll be forever Remington!

Would you prefer a benelli superblack eagle II or a rem. 11-87 for turkey's????why?????
Theres nothing wrong with a benelli superblack eagle II or a rem. 11-87
There both good guns.
Its just I have shot my winchester 1300 and I am happy with it.
So thats what I will keep on useing.
Unless I was to come into a lot of money
Then I might get a benelli superblack eagle II or a rem. 11-87

When I was 15 I got a remington 870 express pump 12 guage for christmas. Wood stock, matt finish. No Camo at all. I'm 28 and still shooting it. I've done aboltutely nothing to it but change the chokes and clean it. Guessin, I've probably killed 20-25 turkeys with it. I could spend money on a better looking shot gun. But whats the point? Ican shoot just as many and kill them just as dead.
If you really want a turkey gun, go buy a new englang arms 12 guage single shot camo gun. They will shoot up to 3 1/2 inch shells. Are light weightand cheap! Besides most birds you are going to shoot in the first shot anyways.

OK - I have a Benelli - no 11-87 - but a 870 - benelli - dove, duke, open area hunting - 870 - turkey hunting - If you care about the apperance of your weapon and working condition - you probably will not carry a 15-18 hundred dollar gun in the turking woods - my 870 does the job - maybe you won the lottery - in that case - go ahead blast um!

Benelli IS THE HANDS DOWN BEST SHOTGUN. There is no arguing that. the remmys are good shotguns but seriously The US Military uses Benellis, I have two Benellis, two Remmys there is no comparison. I like the Remmys but there is no substitute for a benelli. The new Stoegers have the patented operating system and are alot more affordable. BUT THERE IS NO COMPARISON TO THE ACTION. find what you are comfortable with but there is no comparison.
