Default Late Season Question?

When using one hen decoy, which do you think is better? Upright or Feeding? I was thinking upright in the morning and maybe switching to feeding later in the day. Just wondering what anyboby else thinks or has had their prior experiences tell them? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Truthfully, I'd use both. It will add to the illusion.

Early morning I would use a feeding hen due to them being on the roost and not eating all night. It seems every hen I see is eating in the morning once off the roost. Thats been my experience anyway...

if you have both...do what maytom suggested...use both...if your looking to buy one over the other....the feeding hen would be a better choice i think...it may limit your calling to the hens docile vocals tho....soft purrs, yelpsand clucks...but clucks, yelpsand purrs DO bring in the toms..an alert hen deke might make the tom hang up out there...he gobbles and expects the hen to come to him...at least the feeding hen might seem less interested in breeding

I actually have 6 fedding hens(2 bobbing head), 4 upright, and 2 jakes. But I was just wondering about late in the season, which would be a better choice? This is my first year of THE OBSESSION!!!!! I dabbled years prior, but I was only a deer hunter trying to kill a turkey! Now I'm a deer hunter trying to become a turkey hunter!!!!

in the late season...leave the jakes in the truck or better yet...at home...the norm for breeding turkeys is...the tom gobbles...the hens hear him and GO to him...what we're trying to do is make it happen the opposite...if your tom gobbles and you just cluck and purr...as a feeding hen will do...he will probably move closer...and closer...and even closer...he's not going to leave without checking out the hen sounds...he sees the hens feeding and he might just come in and show off to try to entice the hens to stop feeding and pay attention to him..it's worth the try...
