in the late season...leave the jakes in the truck or better yet...at home...the norm for breeding turkeys is...the tom gobbles...the hens hear him and GO to him...what we're trying to do is make it happen the opposite...if your tom gobbles and you just cluck and purr...as a feeding hen will do...he will probably move closer...and closer...and even closer...he's not going to leave without checking out the hen sounds...he sees the hens feeding and he might just come in and show off to try to entice the hens to stop feeding and pay attention to him..it's worth the try...
