Crigger there is no confusion all I was stating was that people will accept 200 plus hits in a ten inch circle at 40 yards , but they cannot accept 40 hit in the vitals at 60. REREAD my post. There is no confusion at all. I believe if people spent more time BONDING with thir gun instead of fearing it with those howlitzer size 3.5 inch shells, most couldachieve resultslike this. I really enjoy people who are doubtful of ones accomplishments. My friends Dad was the same way until he saw it happen. I am not a professional shooter and I have no reason to lie to people whom I will never see in person. I am the type of person that likes to know what my limits are with my hunting equipment and love to fine tune things(if you will). Thanks HUNT

I myself find this hard to believe too. I think we have nearly the same gun. I have the new 835 thumbhole with a 20 inch barrel. I am not getting near the results that you are. I have used the win. supreme 5 shot and fed flightcontrols, remington and a few other shells and even bought a new choke and the best i can get is anywhere from 30 to 35 in vitals at 30yds 12 to 18 at 40yds and just a few at 50yds so id say 45 is about my max.

No we don't have the same gun, every gun is different. Have you polished your barrel yet? Go over to the NWTF webpage and get into the forums....Shotguns and shotgunning search for polishing the barrel on an 835. And if you were shooting just the winchester supreme turkey loads than yeah there is a big difference. Try the winchester supreme elite hi density. I wouldn't waste your time on the federals with flight control with your ported choke. What choke did you buy? If I here to go buy a choke it would be a Kick's or a comp n Choke 680. Are you shooting from a solid rest like a picnic table? I shoot from a table with sand bags under my gun to keep it steady. I hope you get it lined out.

Not sure what you are getting, but the results that you "claim" aren't that hard to get today.

I know plenty of people that are getting 300+ pellets in a 10in circle at 40 yards with the Nitro loads.

Strut I was only stating that I have my gun pretty well tuned in. And then here come the negative comments. Like I'd like to be there to see that. I am a guy like yourself that utilizes the 3.5 inch shell and my time at the range to erfect things. Thanks again Strut, nice to know that some people on here actually no what they are talking about.

Even if the gun gets only 1/2 of those pellets. It sounds like a very nice gun.

One of these days I may get one.

Actually the flightcontrols shot best with my ported choke. I bought a brileys choke and its not really a huge different but it is a little better. Is my pattern alright though? I know at 30yds its good but is 12 to 18 good at 40? I might try some hevi shot sometime to see if its any better, but I dont like puttin out the money. What shell do you think I should try?

Dubz 'I have an article from.. I don't remember which magazine it is from, but anyway the man that wrote called comp-n- choke who also makes Kick's and told him to choke it down to a kick's gobblin thunder 680 and shoot winchester supreme hi-velocity number 5 in 3.5. I still shooting the utilmag ported choke. I have also bought some number 4 shot winchester hi- velocity that I am going to shoot and see the results. you should try to put a minimum of 100 pellets in a ten inch circlestarting at 20 yards, move back in 5 yard increments until you cannot achieve this, then you know your maximum shooting distance. Theguy in the article also stated a 5 carries 1/3 more downrange energy than a 6 and if you can get a 4 to hold to this 100 pellet in a ten in circle at 35-40 yards all the better. Yes it will cost some bucks buying diffrent shells and chokes, but it is well worth it in the end. You guys could always have rhino do it for you. They quoted me $315 to fully work my gun and pattern it. To much for me. I am anxious to see how it shoots the number 4 shot. I'll get the issue number of the magazine and post the name of it tommorrow. Good luck.
