RedAllison:
There is no"not for use with slugs" warning on the Mossberg 835 fully rifled cantilever scope mount barrel that the Lightfields woulden't eject from.

what is the choke and ammo you used are you talking about remmington nitros and a
Yep I agree, I miced mine the other day (found it in theback of my gunsafe) and it was .695. But it is NOTHING like the .695 Rhino I hunt with. As for getting under .680 with a 835, be careful. The 835/935 are built with 10ga backbores (Redneck Bill that is why your slugs stuck, you must not have read the "NOT FOR USE WITH SLUGS" warning on the barrel of your 835?) and are THE finest turkey guns on the market if loaded to maximize the payload ability.
I have a Supermag 870 as well and was shooting Nitro in it until I toured Nitro Ray's "shop" a couple years ago in MO. He found out I had an old 835 sittin in the closet and convinced me to dig it out, shoot the Nitro/Rhino combination and needless to say my 870 is now a backup only gun! Sure the 835/935 won't show you what it is made of if you stick simple 3.5" loads in it just like you would anyother 3.5" gun. But if you try some ammo specifically built for it, you will see an incredible machine once you pass the 60yd mark!!!
Good luck and don't under-estimate that cheap ol Mossberg trombone,

That's a pretty old post, he may not respond. He is referring to the Nitro Ammo co. (Nitro Ray). Look him up on the web. His shells are very pricey but some folks swear by them.

I see another newbie on his first post brought up a thread that was 9-10 years old and is asking questions like it was just made yesterday! The people in it are probably gone by now and will never see it, but welcome to the newbie!

.690
I have a mossburg 835 ulti mag. With a x-factor turkey choke ulti-full. .695 now I use it for card shoot's. Its nice but , would a Primos tight wad .690 be better??? And throw more shots in the circle? We shoot From 40yds. With target and game loads from Remington.

Mossberg 835
Yes, you're right about the Uti-Full choke tube for the 835. I used a caliper, and that is how I got the same constriction which is .695. BUT, there are tighter chokes for the 835 that are out there, I own one. The constriction is .669 (17.mm) a little tighter than the Ulti-Full. The end of the choke tube that is ported is 1 1/2 inches long and is knurled at the end. I don't know who sold it or made it because there is no writing on it. I've had it for over 15yrs. and boy does it throw a tight pattern. I do know for sure that if a turkey was anywhere within 45 yards or closer, they would be a dead bird.
