does anyone have this gun or know how well it performs and whats the max distance with the mossberg 500 using the full choke?i just bought one tonight and got a full choke for it.may end up buying the xtra full but wanted opinions on the current set up.thanks

My buddy has one. With a x-full extended turkey choke, it's deadly to 40 yd. at least. With the right tube, it'll shoot as well as any.

I would definatley go with at least the Xfull. I just bought the mossberg Xfactor XXfull (off their website) and it shoots a great pattern out to 40 yards + . I currently shoot federal #5
flite control shells. The mossberg full choke got very ifffy beyond 30 yards.

Mine patterns very well with the extended turkey choke, out to 40 yards or a little better.

My girl shoots a mossberg 835 and it is awesome. You should have good luck with the 500. It's a pretty good gun. The biggest difference with the two is that I believe the 500 is just a 3" gun. Good luck!!

My friend was here last week patterning his Mossberg 500. At 50 yards, he put approx 14 pellets in the brain and spinal column consistently.

What choke and shot was he using Dave?

I've got an old 500, with a fix full choke barrel, that I've been shooting for years. Found that any 3" shell with 2 oz. #5 shot works well in it. Currently using Kent Diamond shot 3" 2 oz. #5.
