Default Scope Advise?

I've begun developing the "aging eyes" syndrome and have to use a scope on my shotgun. I've been nailed with the scope on the eyebrow twice and the second one wasn't pretty [8D]! Iwas going to get a scope with 6" of eye relief but was considering trying a red dot scope.

Which red dot scopesare decent and what is junk? I see the prices vary quite a bit which make me wonder. I hunt with a Remington 870 turkey gun andshoot 3" shells.

Thanks!

I've got a Tasco red dot and it works good for me. Simmons is also a good brand at about the same price.as the saying goes, "get the best you can afford".

I even put the Tasco on my xbow and it works great there also.

I've got a Tasco PDP3 and it's "decent", but if I were to put a red dot on my turkey shotgun, it would definitely be an Aimpoint. They are probably the best one's out there. The military uses them also.

I just put a truglo 2x by 30 and really like it. If I had more money I would have put an aimpoint on. The goodthing about redot is that they have unlimited eye relief.Mount on the rib , or on the reciever.

I have used30mm Millit red dots on both my turkey and deer shot guns for the last 4 years .
I also use them on most of my hunting handguns .
I have never had one fail even on the 45/70 Contender pistol
