Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

I used to shoot just mature birds, now that I photograph wild turkeys I only shoot jakes. I figure if I shoot a long beard I can't photograph him.
No Brainer...You got a bird to Photograph next year[&:]

Tom or jake, if they come to the gun they take their chances! [8D]

I wont shoot unless it's a tom. I dont have a problem with those who do shoot a jake, just not gonna be me.

I waited three years before i shot my first longbeard. During that wait I passed on many jakes and to this day, 12 years later, I have not shot one on purpose. Several years ago, I called in four birds, 3 jakes 1 longbeard, I got confused when they were in the brush and shot one of the jakes, oh well, he weighed 18 lbs.

To each his own.

I'm not proud. Although I would prefer a Tom, ifJake comes my way first, then thats what I'm taking.

18 pound jake! That's a 2 or 3 year old bird where I'm hunting. If an 18 pound jake ever walked in front of me he would be in trouble. I've never heard of a jake being that big.
