I'd never limit myself to just one or two calls. I make sure to have several mouth calls, a glass, a slate and several box calls if not several of each call because every bird is different and ya need to take their temperature. What works on one might not work on the next and ect.
Switching calls can and does get action which you might not have had using just one or two.

I carry around quite an assortment of cals too. at one point or another, most of them have at least gotten a response. I'll go with whatever call is working, but I PREFER using diaphragm mouth calls. I watched my 2nd bird last year strut at 100 yards for nearly an hour before I started cutting on my diaphragm and he committed. He's now mounted on the wall behind me.

Imho,Arrowmaster just hit the nail on the head!Use the call your most comfortable and confident with! They all kill turkeys!!My go to call is a diaphragm but I usually start with a friction call and seal the deal with a mouth call!!!

i prefer mouth calls. somehow they came really easy to me and i could do much better sounds with them than other calls without all of the movement. i don't worry about specific types.

I have used so many different calls over the years andhad success with most...Knight & Hale, Primo's, Quaker Boy, you name it. I found over the years that trying to closely imitate the hens in the area has been the key to success from the number of clucks in a calling sequence to pitch. Different calls produce different sounds soI always have a variety of calls in the bag. My dad uses this mouth call that I call"The wounded duck" cuz that what it sounds like. If he ever entered a tourny he would come in last for sure, but he always gets a bird, which goes to show it don't always have to sound pretty. I'm still trying to figure out what them birds think he his, cuz if I were a turkey and heard that in the woods I'd be headed for the hills...lol

I like slate type calls. Primos Power Crystal worked for me last year, K&H Ol' Yeller is a good easy to use slate type call also. I always have a box call and diaphragms, but if the slate gets him coming my way, I usually don't make a peep with anything else.
