Default trail cam setup question

alright, I thikn I found an ideal place to set up my camera (moultree digital). its a funnel area in a creek bottom between a bedding area and feeding area (coincidentally, a few yards from a stand area). My question is do youclear out the branches/brush in the line of sight from the cam to the area your shooting? I've gotton more pictures of branches and ground foliage than I have of anything else. Its almost breezy here, so i think this is my problem. Also, do you all place your cameras over a baited area to keep them around long enough to trip the sensor?

Try to find a trail to angle it down. It should be clear of ground obstructions becouse, its IS a trail. If i have to place one of my cameras where there is alot of weeds i try to pullthem out.

well the area is in the woods with alot of ground growth. I planned on setting the cam back about 20 yards from the crossing, and I'm not sure if the breeze blowing the undergrowth behind the site (about 10') would be enough to trigger the pictures.

It might, you might have to resort to trial and error.

You just have to guess and test and eventually you will be able to tell which spots are good and which ones arent

I agree with cay4redneck and angle it down the trail so you shoul'nt have to use bait plus the right hight for the camera not to much obstructions in front and not strapped to too small of a tree that the wind can blow around and cause false triggers. also depending on what model moultrie you have some havea IR aim feature wich will help determine what is in the line of fire and some have a laser aim wich helps determine hight of camera and angle. I like to use the laser aim on my moultries because I maximize the sensor range wich allows more animals in the range. Good luck and keep us posted!

I had some issues with mine going off with branches and ferns blowing in the wind. I would clear most away. Also gotta watch so it isnt aimed into the sunrise or sunset as the heat can trigger the cam. Trial and error mainly
