I just purchased a Gamespy 200, and can't or don't understand how
to use/set-up the IR Aim feature. I've followed the instructions in
the owners manual as I understand them, but can't get the laser to
work. I'am sure its something I'am doing wrong, what's seems to be
happening is I go through Set-up and the last option is IR Aim on/off
I set it to on then hit the mode button to exit set-up and select Auto
mode, then I move the on/off/aim switch to aim from on. The laser
does not come on, I can go back into set-up and recheck the setting
and its back to off. Does it maybe only work while in the Set-up mode or something like that. Any and all help would be greatly
appreciated, Thanks

the ir aim is for when u have the cam on out in the woods the aim switch is for when u set the cam up u turn it on aim and step back so u can see the laser where the sensor is u want it at like waist height so the deer can set off the sensor when they walk thru but leave the ir aim off in the settings i dont think its important then once ur cam is set up and u used the aim switch and got it where u want it just turn it on and then turn it to auto then u should be good to go

I appreciate your response very much, but when you move your ON/OFF/AIM switch to AIM and your laser comes on, what mode
is your camera in ( Auto, Handheld, or Set-up. ).
Because when I move my switch to AIM position the laser does
not come on, is it because my camera is in the wrong mode
when I switch it to the AIM position, I have only tried it when in
Auto mode, should I be in another mode or is my laser bad.

You should'nt be in any mode. When you click to aim, the camera is off. You have on, off, and aim. Simply putting that switch to aim, should turn the laser on.
If not, I'm guessing in setup mode, when you go to activate that feature, you're not hitting the right button (select?) to turn it "on".
I could check mine a little later and maybe see for sure.

Hi SuperRedHawk,
hey if its not to much trouble to check I would really appreciate it, and thanks for your reply. i'll keep an eye for any info. you can provide me, if I set
it up correctly and tried everything suggested and it still doesn't work i may have a faulty camera. But it also may be something simple that I'am doing
wrong as well, just want to be sure. What seems to be happening is, With the camera switch in the off position I move it to ON then scroll to the
setup mode and hit select, at this point i'am in the setup mode, i scroll through the options using the scroll buttons to the option i want then select it
using the select button. The last option in setup mode is IR AIM ON/OFF i scroll to ON and press select button. i then per the owners manual press
the mode button to exit setup mode and select Auto mode, then i move the switch to OFF. i can then move the switch to the AIM position and the
laser does not come on, if i move the switch back to the ON position and scroll back to setup mode and scroll through the options to the IR AIM
ON/OFF option it is back to OFF. This is the reason i thought it might only work in setup mode, but some of the guys using this same camera has
indicated that to use their laser they only have to move the switch back and forth between ON and AIM or OFF and AIM and their laser comes every
time. I have to be doing something wrong or my laser is bad, i have not tried my laser while in the setup mode however, will try that when i pick it
up from the woods next week. Again thanks for the info. and please if there is other gamespy 200 users reading this pass along anything you think
would help.

OK, I checked mine. The IR AIM setting should not affect the laser aim (to be honest I'm not sure what that does!). The laser should work regardless when you put the main switch to AIM.
I too put my IR AIM in settings to "on", tried the laser and it worked. And when I went back, mine was also back to "off" again.
The manual says if you want to use IR to aim, but InfraRed isNOT the laser beam, it's actually part of the motion sensor. I'm not sure what they mean by that.
Anyway it does'nt matter what mode you're in, because the camera is actually off. If the laser is not coming on when in the aim position, I think something is wrong with your cam.
You are looking in the right spot, right? It's kind of hard to see when bright out. Did you put your hand right in front of the laser?

Ok, thank you very much for taking the time to check out your camera
to see exactly what it was doing, that is exactly the information i needed
to know. And yes, i did put my hand in front of the lsaer to make sure
it was not on and it wasn't. I think what i will do is (1) Go into setup
mode and set the camera to its factory default settings. (2) Remove the
battery and then reinstall it. (3) Try the switch on AIM again, and if it
doesn't work exchange the camera. ha
Appreciate everyone's comments and suggestions, thank you all.
