It is not possible to shoot cross dominant using an aiming system simply impossible
I beg to differ with that. I know a handful, not many, but a few people who are shooting cross dominant with rifles. which has an aiming system. To include one fairly well known small arms competition shooter who is the son of my wifes friend. They are ranked top in the nation and believe it or not he does it cross dominant.

Lilhunter they are not using their dominant eye then, they are using their non-dominant eye and they have sights to make them focus. Take the rear sight and front sight off and see if they can shoot cross domiant by simply using the barrel - its impossible. Why ?

As a right handed shooter holding the rifle with the right hand and your cheek on the stock, you are NOT looking down the barrel if you are left eye dominant. You are looking above and outside the barrel with your left eye. Only by having a rear sight to force your right eye to focus is it possible to shoot that way.

I know - I'm that way and done that.

I can (and do) shoot a right handed compound. How ? I have a peep that forces me to use my non-dominant eye. I shoot both eyes open. I sometimes "shift" too - meaning my left eye takes over and I'm looking outside the peep. With no peep though its impossible to do.

Is that a better explanation ? Until a person tries to shoot cross dominant they will not understand what I am trying to say.
