There is a test somewhere about this.
The bow was, with the string on, stacked away in a dark place for a year and it didnt loose anything of its power and for sure it didnt twist.
Therefor i stay at silvertips words about heat.....
That will couse more problems than being stringed....

It is nice to know that my slinger won't be known as "Mr. Twistylimbs" as long as it is properly cared for.
I am not a hyp-BOW-condriact or anything, I would just like to keep a long relationship with my equipment.
Not bad with the play on words if I do say so myself...

Haven't twisted a limb ever and been stringing and unstringing for over 40 years. I've heard it could happen but never seen it happen.
I once bought a Shakespeare recurve that was already twisted. It didn't have a string at the time which should have tipped me off. I eventually fixed the twist, so it can be done if by some freak of nature you do twist one.
I suspect if you store the bow as if it were a living thing, not too hot nor too cold, resting on its back or hanging by the string, braced or not, it'll probably be okay. I personally prefer unbracing before storing in most instances but as you can see that's not a universal preference.
