Kodiak Bogan Build A Long
#21

This is what we have after an hour of shaping on the belt sander.

There is still a lot of material to come off the riser yet.
But once again the heat has driven me out of the shop.
I will get the overlays on the other limb then call it quits till later tonight when it cools down again.

Well 1 limb is kinda finished, it just needs sanding down and the overlays feathered in a tad more.
Here is the Ebony wet down of course it's gonna look a lot better than this once it is sanded and the finish on.

The overall look of the limb.

Sorry about all the posts to catch up but it seems you can only have 4 pics per post, I guess so it does not interfeer with all the advertisements

After another 90 minutes on the belt sander the riser is finally at rough shape.

Now comes the really fun part.
Hand sanding the riser working my way from 80 grit paper to 220 grit paper.

So after 5 hours of hand sanding plus the 2 1/2 hours on the belt sander rough shaping the riser.
It's time to sand in the first coat of finish and to bring out the true color of the Tigerwood.

I also have the first coat on the limbs.
Tomorrow morning I will wet sand the riser and apply the second coat, I will be wet sanding it between coats till I have 8 or 9 coats on her.

Every time I go to do an up date I have to break the update to only 4 pics. Then I have to sit and wait before I can post again on the same thread.

As long as you let us know where you post, I don't care where you do your build alongs. Your bows turn out soooo nice. I think this one is my favorite of all the b-a-l's you've done. Love the tigerwood!

Maybe just limit your updates to 4 pics?
Otherwise, let us know so we can all send admin messages that we want them to make an exception for you
