Looking for some opinions. Im shooting goldtips 35/55 250gr. tips and 8gr. per inch weight tubes total weight 696 grains. I currently have 4in vanes and get pretty good arrow flight out of my 50lb martin. Should I change up my fletchings or stick with the 4in. Will it affect spine and be worth trying. I never intended shooting the 4in feathers but was given the arrows to try and they fly pretty good. THanks for any opinions

I've also thought about changing from 4" to 5" but keep hitting the "If it ain't broke don't fix it" wall. I get great flight from the 4s so I'll stick with them.

If your 4" fletching stabilizes your broadheads, go with it. If, however, they won't stabilize, or if they shoot differently than your target points. I'd consider changing so that you won't have to adjust when hunting season starts.

Ive been burning 5" recently. I see no real differenec in the arrow flight. I just like the peace of mindwith a 5", when Im hunting.

I used to shoot 5" feathers but I could only get 1 fletch from a full-length so I went to a 4" and now I get 2 4" fletches from each one. They fly just as well as the 5" even with broadheads

Up until a few years ago I always used 5 or even 5½" feathers on all my arrows. Mainly because that's what everyone else used. Then I was given some 4" parabolic feathers and tried them on my arrows. No difference in accuracy, and they make less noise, so I switched to 4".
The important thing is to get the arrows matched to the bow. If the bow is well tuned (brace height, nocking point, etc.) and the arrows spined correctly the feathers aren't a critical factor.
