Default How do you keep your feathers dry?

Anyone have any advice to offer about keeping your feathers dry in the rain? I have just been carrying a plastic baggy around, but wondering if there is a better water proofer. I have so camping gear waterproofing spray and I know about the bohning powder. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

That's probably the best way to go about it. Put some waterproofer on them and keep them under a baggie if you have a constant rain. When I shot feathers I didn't notice any difference in accuracy when they were wet. Try shooting some wet feathers and see how they fly out of your set up.

YUP,.. I just use the powder mostly. I tell you what works really well is the dry fly dope. I bought a spray can of it at an Orvis shop. It worked great. I just haven't gotten anymorebecause the local Orvis shop closed. I use the powder and a zip lock baggie. It really doesn't matter as the arrows will shoot just fine even wet.

The night before I go hunting, I spray my feathers with Scotchguard.I use the plastic baggie when it starts coming down pretty hard.

Aerosol FLY FLOATANT - See DavidMil's response above - it works awesome. I don't even worry about keeping mine dry anymore -mine fly the same even if they're soaking wet and slicked down.
