well i asked about getting a new recurve on the board a little while ago
got a lot of good reponses too, thanks all
i originally was going to get a nice custom bow
well my funds are now much lower, due to a new bicycle
so i am stuck to one option
Cabelas
i have there card and use it all the time
i have gained enough points to purchase any traditional bow they sell
the couple i have looked at are as follow
FB super kodiak
martin howatt hunter
now my uncle swears by bear
he's a compond guy but had several recurves growing up, all bear, and he loved them
i have never owned a bear so what do you all think of them?
i don't really know much on Martin bows
heard the name before but never really talked to someone that owns one
what is your take on Martin bows?
also i see Cabelas is got some new brand names i hadn't seen before
anyone got some inside info on them
here are the brands i eyeballed for a minute on the site
predator hunter recurve
impala delux takedown recurve
black bear recurve bow
thanks to all that reply
good luck to all this year
hope you all harvest a big, fat slob : )

I've had several Howatt Hunters and they've all been good bows. I've had several Bears and they've all been good bows. Martin always had a bit more speed. Bear was no slowpoke either, but felt smoother to draw. Both would consistently put arrows where you aimed them, and it was just up to you to aim them at the right spot. I haven't shot anything either Martin or Bear have made in the past 10 years though.
So....Between the Howatt Hunter and Super Kodiak, just chose the one you like best. That's all there is to THAT decision.
Imports. Probably Korean. I'm sure they are decent bows. Depends on how you feel about imports.
