Chek-Mate Forum? NOT!

Bill,
Of course it' s about sales. That' s the entire purpose of a commercial website. Ken Beck' s far from unique in that respect. And I agree about the bashing stuff. It goes both ways. I think folks need to just realize that there is no perfect bow (or perfect manufacturer) for everyone and go from there.
Besides, it' d be terribly boring if everyone shot the same stuff.

Bill:
Maybe I am confusing you with another Bill. If so, please accept my apologies.
I just thought it was kind of funny that on a thread that everyone is talking about CM, you would come on and start something about BW.
I just get so sick and tired of hearing that kind of stuff when it really does no good for anybody. I do have to admit, that I' m not sure if I have ever heard a BW owner bash any other bow exept in defence of a snide remark or outright bash directed toward them.
As far as the BW forum, why does that stike you as funny. It is part of BW' s site, BW pays for it and it is intended for BW owners. I find nothing offensive or elite about that. Ken Beck is in the business of selling bows. When I pick up TB magazine, and I look at any advertisement in there, do they include competitors products in the ad? Heck no. They pay for the ad to generate business and awareness of their own products. Is this elitesism? I think its just good business. Fred Bear marketed his product in any way he could think of. I would imagine that if the internet was around in his day, their would have been Bear forums and people would bash him for making " production" bows.
Go figure.

GEREP,
The only reason I went " off topic" was I thought it intriguing that the title of the thread was " Chek-Mate Forum. NOT!" It struck a chord with me about the BW forum. And I guess my comments are not really directed at Ken Beck because what he is doing IS wise on his part, to an extent.
My comments really were directed at some of the sophomoric comments I have seen from BW owners, and YES I must admit BW haters/needlers/bahers/or whatever they are. I believe an honest objective opinion can be made without being bashing.
For example, it is my opinion that the BW T/D recurve risers look like a 2X4 that has been shaped to form a rather blocky looking riser. (By the way, I have the same opinion of Habu recurves) Now if I post that as my opinion, am I bashing BW? I guarantee the BW enthusiasts will take it as bashing. There often is no leeway allowed for posting an opinion without it being interpreted as bashing. That is why I most often just bypass the BW threads.
I frankly can' t afford one of them and would buy other bows in the price range first if I could! I am strictly a longbow shooter, and from what I have read, their longbow is not a top performer like their recurves. Just MHO.
