Just wondering - I'm needing a glove and stumbled across this - Can anyone recommend a good 3 finger or full glove that they have had good luck with?
Thanks - So many questions so little time

I like Damascus gloves (wear out too quick though), deerskin or goatskin gloves, the old Bear Archery Mfg. glove (no longer made, but you might find one here or there), and the Alaska Archery Superglove (so far, so good--a bugger to get broke in though). There is a catch--don't buy any "over the counter" glove unless you can try it on first. Every brand I have ever used varied, some a whole lot, even though they were marked the same size. Get one that fits really snug when new, because it will stretch. If it fits new, it will be loose when you get it broke in. Thinking hard about ordering a glove from American Leathers--custom made to fit your hand--but I got to take time and ask Lamb and Shrewshooter more about them. I want one that lets me feel the string, and I don't know if the Bigshot or Slickshot are thin enough for that.
As for the No-Glove, are you referring to that rubber thingy that you put on the string? I used one on my son's bow when he first started shooting, but that is a lot of weight to put on the string and will slow it down some.

If you're talking about what Chad's talking about then it's the same thing I'm talking about ... <img src=icon_smile_evil.gif border=0 align=middle> I've got one on my bowfishing rig. I like it for that but think it'd weigh too much to put one on my hunting bow.
If you're not talking about what Chad's talking about then I don't know what you're talking about so ... Sorry, I can't help you out.

I use the "no-glove" for bowfishing. I tried it on my hunting bow and it slowed the arrow down about 15 fps. Too much speed to sacrifice for the convenience of not having a glove or tab to deal with. I had accuracy problems with the "no-glove" too. I could not get a consistent release. This hasn't affected my bowfishing much but I measure distances in feet there instead of yards. Try it out and decide for yourself.

I agree with the others. The no-glove is ideal for bowfishing, but not for anything else. I use the Damascus and Berlin gloves. I don't care at all for the other style gloves with finger stalls attatched to the wristband with leather strips because the stalls are constantly twisting around on my fingers. That's just a little annoyance, but one I don't need.
I also use the red and black Black Widow tab and the Neet Pinch Free tab that has the wide felt spacer.

LBR: If you want a fine feel for your string, I'm afraid you won't achieve it with the American Leathers Big Shot. Honestly, I haven't tried the glove but a few weeks back I was considering ordering one. I posted a few questions on other BBs about the feel with it, anchor and string, and most said it's a little bulkier. A lot of guys have said though that it's the best glove they've ever used. I had been using a glove for a longtime and was never satisfied with the way it felt at anchor-just too much leather against my face to really get a fine feel for my anchor. Well, I finally gave in and have since tried a cordovan tab from Screaming Eagle-Wow, what a better feel and release! I think tabs might be the best bet for me. You might want to check with Tom Parsons at Kim Sha Archery. It was suggested to me that he makes or carries a leather glove which is really unique and gives you a good feel of the string. Here's the number I was given if you're interested. 301-934-5234

Thanks Brian! Two things I am constantly looking for--the perfect glove and the perfect quiver--regular sized in either one don't work for me at all.

Yep, they are great for bow fishing but they seemed too hard to get a good release with when i tried them on my hunting bow.Gettin a good release when carp shooting isn't usually a problem,my fingers are always covered with carp"GOO".
