A friend of mine has done that several times with no ill effects. I'd opt for limb sleeves or an adhesive camo rather than paint though--much easier to remove without de-valueing the bow.

Painting the limbs won't cause any problem except that someday you might want to take it off and put the bow back in original condition. Paint can be a bear to remove without ruining the original finish. Myself, I'd spend some extra money and buy a set of limbskins instead.

If you paint them, use light coats, otherwise heavby coats crack. I would use some of theHS vinyl camo tape. It worked great on mine. Do it while the bow is strung or the tape will get small bubbles when drawn and let down.

thanks guys, the bow was given to my dad some guy just didnt ever use it and then when compounds came out my dad left it unstrung in the shed. for years he said it was crooked but one day i said i just gotta string it, its perfect and it turns out the one he thought was crooked was his other recurve that he got rid of. anyway the bow isnt anything special so ill be giving some light coats to help me kill something with it this year. thanks again
