To get the AMO bow length, you will need a cloth (or otherwise flexible) tape measure. Start at the top of the string groove, measure along the side of the limb following the contour of the limb, through the center of the riser, down the other limb to the top of the other string groove. If the bow was made to AMO specs, it will need a string 3" shorter than that measurement.

thanks for the info chad, the reason i asked is because i ordered a 62 inch custom made bow and when putting a string on the bow i have to twist it up so much from my other 62 inch bow, i just measured from string groove to string groove and it only measures 60 inches, so was the bow made to short, do you think i should call the company, i mean i just spent 7 hundred and i just dont wanna start anything with the guy, really dont know what to do, please give your opinions guys.

a string was supplied with the bow, but i have to twist it up so much it is almost in knots, and i didnt buy the bow from a person i had it custom made to the specs i wanted and it is 2 inches shorter than what i ordered, so being shorter than what i ordered would account for having to twist the string so much to get my brace height where it should be
