Are there any other folks here that build bows or shoot with "primative" equipment?.. I hate that term by the way cause it makes the bows sound like they are tree branches with bailing twine for strings. It's all good... I wish I didn't sell everything I made though cause I would have a heck of a collection. Everything from juniper and sinew Ishi replicas to really cool "Cupid" shaped horse bows with a lot of different Tribal and European bows thrown in for good measure. But that's another story.

I'm also wondering if there's even any other bow dudes out there that messed around with horn bows.

I've never gotten into making horn bows, but I've had a bit of a hankerin' to do that for the past several years. Haven't made a selfbow in over a year now, but I've made a bunch of them over the years, starting in the late 50's.

My latest project has been laying around for a couple of months, unfinished and unworked on. It's eventually gonna be a bamboo backed prod for one of my midieval crossbow replicas.

After I got it sent to me rough cut, I did the following:

1. Final Sanding and shaping of the handle
2. painting and design
3. clearcoat
4. leather cord wrapping of the syahs
