Would like to build my own bow...
#1

Anyone have an idea or plans on doing it!!!
I think it would be the sign of a true hunter to make your own bow, arrows, broadheads, ect... and kill a deer or bearof any size.
Then you could say you've really done something.
No carbon arrows, or pin sights, or 60% let off,ect...
Not that even with these things, it isn't a challenge. But, I just think that anything killed with a bow you madeyourself would be a true trophy!

Quite a few have. The Bingham kits (out of Orem, Ut) make a real nice bow. They shoot well and do not stack. I shot several deer with a recurve I made. Missed a few elk. I've since built and shoot a longbow. I've killed a few grouse with it and missed a few elk. Go figure: Kill a grouse at 25 yds and miss and elk at 12! That elk fever gets me bad!!! I make flemish strings for them and make my own arrows. If you like to build, there is alot of satisfaction in shooting equipment you've made yourself. I take my hat off to those guys that take a stave and make a self bow out of it. Real craftsmen

Sounds good. That's the mark of a true, greathunter, to kill an animal with homemade bow, arrows and broadheads. I would like to make a bow someday too, but I don't have the time or knowledge now...
