Default Long term project

Hi
I had a hectic week with the birth of my firstborn (son) on the 5th of October. (What does “sleep” mean again?) Anyway, one of my wife’s friends curiously requested some info about different types of trees that would be suitable for bow wood. Se pitched yesterday with a young maple tree from some nursery, with the idea that I would someday build a bow from this tree for him.
Its way to small at the moment, but looks like it would someday be decent enough to use. Anyone been nursing a tree into a bow? Any advice?

About the only advice I can give is to plant it somewhere protected from the wind. It'll grow straighter and without any twist.

Sleep? It's been almost 17 years since I've done THAT. Maybe in a couple more years, whenmy boy isout on his own I'll be able to sleep again. Kind ofgotten out of the habit now though.

I won't congratulate you, but will congratulate your wife. SHE'S the one that did all the work. [8D]Hope mom and son are both doing well! And you also. Try and slip in a cat nap once in awhile.
