I also considered buying the Allegiance this season ,but I'm having a hard time justifying selling my 04 Patriot Dually which I just love .Maybe next season I'll make the plunge for one of BowTech's new line and I'm sure there will be another new flag ship then . I really do like the Allegiance but as other's have said, if you already have a BowTech it's hard to justify the 650.00 for what difference's the new bow will make over your BowTech you already have .

I don't want to hijack this thread and turn it into a Patriot vs. Allegiance thread, but I have a question for Atlasman. Is your Patriot a dually or single cam? As you can see in my sig I have an Allegiance and a Patriot Dually. After getting my Allegiance I liked it so much that I sold 2 other bows that I had and bought the Patriot Dually for next to nothing and set it up. On both bows I have a TR DropZone rest. On the Patriot I have an HHA OL5000 sight, a 6" Stealth stabilizer, Simms module in the back stab mount and a Tru Peep and loop on the string. The Allegiance has a Wild Thing stabilizer, TR Mantis sight, Simms module in the back stab mount, and a Tru Peep and loop on the string. Last night I shot them side by side trying to see if one shot different than the other. The Patriot's draw was definitely stiffer with a smaller valley, but that's well known about the BKII cam. There was a very slight vibration in the grip of the Patriot, but nothing worth worrying about. I tried both stabilizers on both bows and neither changed the feel over the other. They were about the same in terms of noise, but had a different sound at the shot. After comparing them, I wouldn't have bought the Allegiance if I already had a Patriot, but things working out as they did I'm tickled pink. Overall, I do like the feel of the Allegiance a little better, but it wouldn't be enough for me to have bought a new bow.

With that being said, what Patriot do you have Atlas? Also, if I remember correctly the Allegiance you shot was 2" too long which would definitely change the feel of the draw cycle with the BCS as I have noticed when drawing BowTech's with a longer DL than my own. I still can't explain the buzz you felt as mine has none.

I have a 2003 single cam Patriot. I have a Doinker D2 stabilizer and 1 oz Doinker in the rear mount. I shoot a WB rest and Copper John Dead Nuts 5 pin sight. I son't shoot with a quiver on my bow......I do have cat whiskers on string and cables. I shoot a loop and a tubeless peep (don't really know which one actually).

You are correct that the Allegiance I shot was at 29"......way too long for me. Maybe that made the draw feel as bad as it did to me.......maybe not. I don't know. I also shot a Switchback that day at 29" and it was as smooth as silk. If it was as fast as the Allegiance I might own it right now.

After comparing them, I wouldn't have bought the Allegiance if I already had a Patriot
Sounds like you know exactly where I am coming from.

Definitely. There just isn't that much of an improvement from my Patriot to have justified the purchase. The way it worked out for me I now have two great bows that I love. I shot the Switchback after buying the Allegiance. Shooting that bow is a dream, but I still can't get over the grip. Mathews grips have never felt right to me and it's hard to get a good aftermarket grip in lefty.

The biggest problem with BowTech is they make a great bow and it's hard to come out with something to top their past bows each year.

Couldn't have said it better myself..........the only difference is I have always HATED Mathews grips as well........but the Outback and Switchback feel much better to me then any other Mathews I have ever held.....I agree that the Switchback is just plain SWEEEEEET.

Nothing (from any company) I have shot to this point is worth getting rid of my Patriot. Once you own a top end rig these days there is just no room for MAJOR improvements. The technology is nearly maxed out at this point and improvements are coming in VERY small increments.

Mathews did a good job of improving their grips, but they are still very bulky and prone to torque. I like where Mathews is going, but they would need to do something about that grip before I'd buy another. Besides, with the bows I currently have why would I get anything else?

A grip is nothing more than an accessory, so don't let that hold you back on your choice. I thought about re-ordering a Bowtech , this time the Allegiance instead of an OG, but my local shop shut the doors about two weeks ago so I am back in the Boonies.

I agree. I just have a problem spending $700 on a bow and having to spend another $70 on a custom grip that is a pain to find and have made. I guess it's just the principle of having to change the grip on a bow that cost that much that gets me.

I'm in the process of ordering a custom grip for my bow, less than $50 to my door. Here is a pic.

Is that a Loesch grip? If not who makes it and do you have a link?
