Default RE: Allegiance or not?

ORIGINAL: HuntingBry

I don't want to hijack this thread and turn it into a Patriot vs. Allegiance thread, but I have a question for Atlasman. Is your Patriot a dually or single cam? As you can see in my sig I have an Allegiance and a Patriot Dually. After getting my Allegiance I liked it so much that I sold 2 other bows that I had and bought the Patriot Dually for next to nothing and set it up. On both bows I have a TR DropZone rest. On the Patriot I have an HHA OL5000 sight, a 6" Stealth stabilizer, Simms module in the back stab mount and a Tru Peep and loop on the string. The Allegiance has a Wild Thing stabilizer, TR Mantis sight, Simms module in the back stab mount, and a Tru Peep and loop on the string. Last night I shot them side by side trying to see if one shot different than the other. The Patriot's draw was definitely stiffer with a smaller valley, but that's well known about the BKII cam. There was a very slight vibration in the grip of the Patriot, but nothing worth worrying about. I tried both stabilizers on both bows and neither changed the feel over the other. They were about the same in terms of noise, but had a different sound at the shot. After comparing them, I wouldn't have bought the Allegiance if I already had a Patriot, but things working out as they did I'm tickled pink. Overall, I do like the feel of the Allegiance a little better, but it wouldn't be enough for me to have bought a new bow.

With that being said, what Patriot do you have Atlas? Also, if I remember correctly the Allegiance you shot was 2" too long which would definitely change the feel of the draw cycle with the BCS as I have noticed when drawing BowTech's with a longer DL than my own. I still can't explain the buzz you felt as mine has none.

I have a 2003 single cam Patriot. I have a Doinker D2 stabilizer and 1 oz Doinker in the rear mount. I shoot a WB rest and Copper John Dead Nuts 5 pin sight. I son't shoot with a quiver on my bow......I do have cat whiskers on string and cables. I shoot a loop and a tubeless peep (don't really know which one actually).

You are correct that the Allegiance I shot was at 29"......way too long for me. Maybe that made the draw feel as bad as it did to me.......maybe not. I don't know. I also shot a Switchback that day at 29" and it was as smooth as silk. If it was as fast as the Allegiance I might own it right now.

After comparing them, I wouldn't have bought the Allegiance if I already had a Patriot
Sounds like you know exactly where I am coming from.
