You know I asked myself that exact same question!
What were the speeds like for 2000??.....Esp. if these bows were drawing long across the board. Were they HIGHER than they are on the 2001 models?? That would make sense wouldn't it?

I can tell you this......I've speed checked 3 different 2001 model BowTechs and they all fall into the advertised speed range at true draw lengths.
One thing I noticed is that each bow fell into the LOW end range of that speed scale.....I have yet to see one at the top end. But they honestly do make it......I understand they will not ship a bow if it doesn't.

Ohio_3Der, Like I said before it's a long story but,I'll try to condense it a little. The 2000 bows were measured from the middle of the valley as AMO measurments are defined however the way bows are measured has been changed over the years. Now everybody measures from the back of the wall not the middle of the valley. In BowTech's 2000 owners manual it explains how they measure draw length so they weren't trying to pull one over on people but rather do things by the book. They did however get alot of negative feedback about it so they took that into consideration and changed the way they measure draw length. Your right the bows speeds didn't change which is proof that the way they were measuring draw length wasn't to try to mislead the public. Since they were measuring from the valley it's where speed comes from and not from the end of the power stroke on back i.e. the wall. I hope this clears things up and by the way if you'll look in the Archers Almanac it defines AMO draw lengh measurement.

Don't get me wrong because I don't have anything against Bow tec but are you saying that they have 1&quot; of valley or more,I have not seen a 1 cam yet with that much valley.

I shot with 2 people today that had 2001 Bowtecs and both had new modules ordered because the draw was too long for them.

They are not the only ones that are doing this and it is hurting a lot of shooters.

I personally would like to see the practice stopped.Maybe they have already put a stop to it and that is great.

I just had someone tell me they had a bow that was a 29&quot; bow and it measured 28.75 from the string to the riser.Not a 29&quot; bow but rather 30&quot;-30.5&quot;.This wasn't a Bowtec but that seems to be the trend or was the trend.

Just my thoughts as I see it.

tfox, my bk2 doesent have much of a valley as soon as it falls off it hits the wall that fast. suposidly the 2002s are suposed to have a little more valley.

This was the same problem I found with the Mathews SQ2 that I shot. The 29&quot; draw length was at least a inch longer than the 29&quot; draw on my Martin. The valley was so short, that you didn't want to creep an 1/8&quot; or it would try to rip your shoulder out. No inch of valley here, much less an inch to the middle of the valley. Of course, it had a nice 8 1/2&quot; brace height and shot very nicely, but I saw this as the mfgr's attempt to get more perceived speed out of a relatively slow, forgiving hunting bow.

All I can say at this point is to measure the bows for yourself. As I stated above the 2001 BK2 drew long but I ask you to measure the rest for yourself. Measure it from the back of the wall and see what you come up with. Have a good one... Oh by the way if these bows have an Infinity cam on them make sure the cam is set up right, meaning the draw stop. Improper set up of the cam can cause it to draw long or short.

Bowtech was AWFUL in their first year, over an inch long in some instances. This year they have made great leaps to get them close.

Mathews has always been roughly 3/4 to one inch long, I can pick one up today and still feel confident it will be 3/4&quot; long. Just the way they are. PW12

I E-mailed the web site about the incorrect data on the Revolution bow. The speed was obtained with 29&quot; draw at 55lbs. A note was added indicating the draw length but the poundage is still misssing.
I'm going to try out a Bowtech Sat. If I like it I'm trading in a Hoyt. Which one should I try for a good 3-D bow.....mmmmmmm......
