Alpine Glide Slide on a Patriot
#11
Goldtip45, huh? are you referring to a normal slides operation or the alpine glide slide in particular? If so, could you elaborate on your tip?
Mrfritz44, I know you didn't ask me- but my Patriot maxes out at 65#'s (ordered that way) and my stalker maxes at 59#'s. That is where I shoot them.
I also enjoy the feel the glide slide provides and the reduced cable/string wear is an added benefit.
I think that the patriots cable guard being somewhat angled away from the riser is placing more stress on the slide than alpine designed for. (Hence the elongated holes)
The Saunders sure was nice, but with the amount of pull it puts on the cables I can only imagine it was designed for a bow where the cable guard is perfectly perpendicular to the riser.
My friend is using the Saunders on his Gladiator and it looks very close to the stock amount of cable/string pull.

I am pulling 63lbs.
I still haven't done anything to my slide yet...........the rollers are not spinning on draw when I just checked it
Bow is shooting great but I wish the thing worked like it is supposed to.

Atlasman, me too.
Don't give up on it too quickly, I can assure you WHEN it works properly it's a nice addition to the bow. If you cannot get it to function properly either return it or give alpine a call as I did.
If their product doesn't work as advertised they need to know about it.

Well I got two new glide slides in the mail from Alpine. I installed both on my bowtech patriot and stalker and neither worked properly[&o]. Both of the rollers on both slides just set there stationary. I don't know if I'm asking too much for the rollers to rotate, but the last ones did. I'm not sure if my cable and string are too lubed or what. After ~20 shots each I removed and trimmed some rubber on the inside of both slides. This freed the weels up some, but only the front roller wants to rotate during the draw.
Since both still provide some sound dampening and don't seem to cause my string and cable any wear I guess I will use them until I get off my rear and order a hicks or bomar.
Good luck w/ yours. Until they improve them somehow I can no-longer recommend them
