Default 250 gr. Shockwave Super Glide

I had found a pack of 250 grain Shockwaves with the new Super Glide Sabot. I decided to try them in the Black Diamond XR. I loaded two pyrodex pellets with the Shockwaves. I was shooting at 70 yards offa sandbag. Not to impressive of a group in my opinion. I expect more from a projectile at 70 yards then that.

I was not impressed with the "super glide" loading. I did not think they loaded any easier then the original shock wave sabots. Also this two petal design I noted completely desinagrated when you shoot. Also I was not all that impressed with the accuracy. I was going to shoot some of the original shockwaves but had a thunderstorm with 60 mph winds come through and it chased me out.

I also when looking for Shockwaves, I found some of Mark's Hunterman Boolets. There were some 280 grain Spiral and Keith Nose in there. I loaded 100 grains of loose Triple Se7en 2f and was shooting them out of crushed rib Harvester sabots as the standard sabot was almost impossible to load. It's strange but I swabbed three times when shooting the Spiral nose and shot twice as a second shot on a fowled barrel. The group shows exactly that. I was suprised that they bullets are holding so high at 70 yards, but then this rifle was sighted in one inch high at 100 yards with 200 grain Shockwaves for shooting across hay fields.

On the Keith nose bullet the swabbed shot hit high, the fowled shot hit low. After that I was moving to get out of the rain...

I want to try the Super Glide Shockwaves in my Knight Disc rifle, but so far I am not impressed that much with them over the original Shockwaves. And at $1.50 more for the 15 shots, they may not be a good bargin. I'll be interested in seeing other posters impressions of these "new and improved" sabots....

I found the round yellow base, and then the two sides of the sabot that were blow off... they did not load as easy as I was expecting also.

I want to shoot them in my Knight. I think they will do real well.
