Don't forget to put an Alpine Cable Slide on it and the draw gets even smoother. Cables don't wear at all either.

The Alpine's look pretty sweet, but is the difference in the bow's performance that noticeable? I still have the stock BowTech slide on my Liberty, but I was looking at some of the others (Sims, etc.) but I wasn't sure they would make a big difference over stock, either.

I tried the stock slide (of course), a Bomar virgin teflon slide (almost identical to the Sims), and the Alpine, and the Alpine was noticably smoother than the other two. Although the chrono was acting erradically that day, it seemed to knock 1-2 fps off the arrow speed, but given the difference in draws it was worth it in my opinion.

So was there any difference between the stock slide and the Bomar virgin teflon one? Was the Alpine consistently slower? How about noise?

Noise wasn't an issue with any of them. The Bomar and the stock slide were about equal in terms of feeling the draw. This in turn made the Alpine stick out as the choice for me.

The wheels on the Alpine are hard to turn, but they do turn under cable stress. There's no looseness in the Alpine construction which I'm sure plays into it's silence.

thanks, mrfritz. Noise was my main concern. I don't know if I'll go with the Alpine or not, as I don't have any issues with the draw on my Liberty right now and, although I'm not overly concerned with speed, I'd hate to give any up unless it's REALLY, REALLY worth it.

I'll back mrfritz up on the alpines smoothness.
It just plain makes the draw smoother than factory draw.

If you are looking for a few more feet per second you should try the Patriot Dulley. Same forgivness and quietness as the VFT but 8 to 10 FPS faster. The only reason I did not go with the Dulley was the let. The Dulley is on in 65 % and the VFT can be either 65% or 80 %. If you don't mind the let off the dulley would be the way to go.

By the way with my 350Grains arrows the dulley was blowing them through a target bag and burrying them into the wall.
