Noise wasn't an issue with any of them. The Bomar and the stock slide were about equal in terms of feeling the draw. This in turn made the Alpine stick out as the choice for me.

The wheels on the Alpine are hard to turn, but they do turn under cable stress. There's no looseness in the Alpine construction which I'm sure plays into it's silence.
