Okay before everyone goes NUTS on me!...I've never shot one, but looking at the specs, it looks like the BK2 and Generation3 are spectacular bows too. I like the Extreme Solo myself, but that'z the only one I've seen and shot. What is it that sets the Patriot apart??
If it's personal preference, what does this bow have that the others do not??

It's more what it hasn't got......vibration and recoil.
It just sits in your hand after the shot and you can't belive it has just fired an arrow at 320 fps.

Although the 2002 Patriot has been described to be top heavy, if you go with a custom grip or shoot without any grip on the bow, the balance of the bow is much improved. The Infinity cam is a great design that stores lots of energy yet has a reasonably smooth draw. A big feature is the draw length modules and the draw stop that you can adjust for letoff and fine tuning your draw length. The Winner's Choice string and cable that comes on the bow is the best money can buy and dosen't stretch and send your I cam out of proper rotation. My Pat. is the most quiet bow I've seen or shot and all with almost no viberation or shock. Are you sure you just didn't fall off a turnip truck?<img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle> Sorry, just kidding.

Turnip truck? Well I am pretty new at this, so bear with me please. Now isn't the lack of vibration and handshock permeating through to the other bows form Bow Tech and Other companies too? I mean I thought that that's part of the principal behind these tiny ATA bows with the &quot;Parallel Limbs&quot; or &quot;Vertical Force&quot; or whatever you want to call it?

Again let me state, I am only in 2nd season with a bow and haven't shot a lot of bows. I'm the marketing guys &quot;Tabula Rasa&quot; I eat all their crap up and believe (for the most part) that their products do what they say. I may be wrong...that's why I'm HERE! Lookin' for the TRUTH!LOL

You'll find a lot of truth on this site from good people. The new design in todays bows that are the much parallel is a good one that results in much reduced recoil. This means a more pleasant shooting bow. Generally longer risers and short limbs that are laid back at around 40 some degrees that make the bows look like some at full draw. At the shot the cams or cam and ecentric travel pretty much vertically and away from each other instead of being thrown foward with the arrow. While the Patriot and the Legacy are very smooth and recoil free as single cams are, I believe the new dual cam Patriot will be even better because the cams are identical in weight and should do a better job of canceling each other out. The cam on a single cam bow is much heavier than the idler, therefore you have the lower limb kick that you can feel on some bows. The severe parallel limb design IMO transfers less shock to the limb pocket area and should promote the life of the limbs. The only drawback of the severe parallel design is the price of the bows. I don't believe you will find the design on the lower end models of each mfg. Give then a try!

The Bowtech Patriot was the first bow with really parrellel limbs. Its vertical force technology greatly reduced vibration and recoil. Last year it was the only one offered. You're right about the other bows! The BKII and other bowtechs are great too. I think your right about the Extreme. Now that it has Vertical Force Technology for 2003 it will be a really hot bow. Especially since its about $100 less!

PRACTICE....PRACTICE....PRACTICE......SUCCESS!

I think this bow is &quot; The Bow&quot; by BT. It is like the Q2 & Q@XL are to Mathews. The pat is a great perfromer & has a very loyal following which should say something about it!

Its a nice bow , very accurate ,it is top heavy but they may have changed that this year as I see they are lighter , its not the quietest bow I've herd in fact I'd say a q2 is quieter I think that is because of the strings used , the thing about them being dead in your hand at the shot is true diferant from any bow I've shoot it just sits there , anyway I traded mine for a darton and am happy the adjustability and draw of the cps cam is nice .

If information provided by the members of this board have helped you please let us know .

I think he meant the first with parallel limbs offered by Bowtech.
