You guy's are going to get me divorced with all this new bow stuff
Anyway I pretty much have it narrowed down to a Patriot just can't decide between a 70lb sc or a 60lb dc I haven't been able to find an 04 dc anywhere but I did draw an 03 and it was nice. Has anyone been able to shot these two side by side? I figured you guy's that were lucky enough to go to the ATA show must have had some exposure to both of these bows in just about every configuration one could think of. It's pretty much going to be a hunting bow.
Thanks

the duallys are pretty stiff to draw. Back in the day I used to shoot 80# PSE carroll intruder.. then more recently a 70# zmax. Now I have a '03 Patriot Dually pulling 70#... I have it backed down to 60# and currently looking for some 60# limbs. From what I hear if you shoot a 60# bow w/ 300 gr arrow next to a 70# w/ 350gr arrows... they will be equally fast w/ the slight advantage going to the 70# model by a few FPS.

I'm in the same boat, well sort of. I'm looking to get a new bow this winter and the 60# Patriot Dually is at the top of my list. I have been shooting the Patriot single cam since they came out and love it. I shoot it at 67# and would like to go down in draw weight to 60# but try and maintain the level of performance that I currently have (290 fps at 28" draw with 365 grain arrow). I shot a '03 Patriot Dually at 61# 28" draw with my arrow and it shot 293 fps. The valley is pretty narrow on this cam and getting it in the correct draw length will be important. I did shoot the '04 Patriot single cam at 28" draw and 62# and it shot my arrow 275 fps.
What I'd like to know is if the valley is the same on the '04 cams for the Patriot Dually as the '03.
Gromage1, I will be selling my 02 Patriot single cam, if you are interested, email or PM me.

I have an 03 and have shot the 04s. I think the draw is smoothed out some in 04. There's less hump to break over into the valley. The valley on the 04 Pat is very nearly the same as the 03, the P40 Dually is narrower in 04. The 04s are smoother overall, and quieter, IMO.

I have to agree. A 60 lb dually is still just plain "sick" when it comes to the speed it puts out. Though I believe a 70 lb 2004 Pat SC will still be a bit faster.
Tough call. I still like the draw cycle of the 70 lb Pat SC though I must admit that a 60 lb Pat DC is still manageable....though the valley is still too short for my tastes in a hunting bow.
